We’re going back to Paradise City
Burnout Paradise a fantastic and fun racing game that released way back in 2008. Paradise was one of my favourite racing games of the last generation alongside Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4 and Forza Horizon.
Now it’s time to return to Paradise City once again as last week, EA announced that Burnout Paradise would be getting remastered. Burnout Paradise Remastered will have updated visuals and will include all the DLC that was released for it.
I never got the DLC for Burnout Paradise when it came out, so this remastered version that includes all the DLC appeals to me.
I know that some people are tired with remasters, I can completely understand but I think Burnout Paradise Remastered is a good idea. Fans of the Burnout series (including myself) have been very vocal about wanting a new entry in the chaotic fun racing series for several years now and yet to receive another Burnout game. I know that we had Burnout Crash back in 2011 but it didn’t play like the Burnout we know and love, which only made the desire for another game even stronger.
The reason why I think that Burnout Paradise Remastered is a good idea, is because I think EA are testing the waters. If Burnout Paradise Remastered sells well then EA might bring back the Burnout series which I, along with many others hope will happen.
Another reason why this is a good idea is because if this sells well, maybe EA will remaster some of their other titles for the current generation of consoles (e.g. Skate and Dead Space).
Take me down to the Paradise City where the grass is green and the cars are pretty.
Burnout Paradise Remastered will release on PS4 and Xbox One on March 16. A PC version will arrive at a later date.

I’m excited for this, though I’m sure they’ll find a way to annoy me….

Remember DJ Atomica? He’ll be back giving us obvious updates every ten minutes.
Thankfully there are no Microtransactions, EA have confirmed.

Lack of microtransactions is great news! I liked DJ Striker on Burnout 3, but I don’t remember Atomica being great….

Oh Atomica was great at first.
Then he’d tell you about Road Rules about 10 times within an hour. Hoping EA turn the constnat notification down with the remaster.
The game has a killer soundtrack.

I loved the soundtrack…have to see if EA still have the license for the music though.
I wonder if there will be an option to reduce/turn off the DJ’s comments?

I hope there is concerning the DJ.
He’s alright but can start to get annoying.
As for the music, I don’t think they would have announced the remaster if they don’t have license for them. We might have some new songs in the game as well. Time will tell.

I have a feeling they may mix up the songs a bit – I’m sure they will have Paradise City on there, but I can see some of the others dropping out. If they keep some of the classic Burnout 1 and 2 songs, then that will be awesome, great memories of Burnout 1 and it’s soundtrack!

Paradise City is definitely in there.
The Burnout score that was from previous games will be in Paradise City as EA still own the rights to that music as it was developed in house.
Different case when it comes to the licensed music though as you said before.

That’s good – doesn’t work without Paradise City!
I’ve just seen the pre-order price on PSN -£34.99! I think I’ll be waiting a while….

Yeah, the price isn’t ideal. It includes dlc and updated visuals but is it worth £34.99? I love Burnout but I haven’t got a load of money.
I think I’ll have wait as well. Especially with Yakuza 6 releasing next month.

I thought it would be £20 and I would have paid half of that. I’ll wait for a sale – probably drop to £12/£15 over the summer. Like you, I’ve not got much money and my main purchase will be Fire Pro World on PS4, in time for the G1!

Man… Fire Pro. I haven’t played one of those games in a long time.

Same, not since the GBA days. I’m a little excited, think New Japan are licensed?

NJPW have heavily advertised it so I would guess so.

Yeah, Fire Pro is sponsoring the BOTSJ tournament, so there is lots of crossover. Heard Fire Pro might have a story bit, where you start as a young boy and work your way up….I sincerely hope this is true.

That would be very good. It will definitely add more value to the game.
Fire Pro on its own is worth it but include something like that and more people are going to be interested.
The journey from a Young Lion to main eventing Wrestle Kingdom would be awesome. Except for when you fight Suzuki because he’s scary as hell. 😁

Yeah, that’s when the game stops being fun 😁 hopefully they go ahead with this mode – it would be incredible!

Fire Pro is a wrestling game until you meet Minoru Suzuki. Once you meet him, Fire Pro becomes a horror game. 😁

Definitely!
Like when you meet Misawa on Virtual Pro Wrestling (N64). I’ve taken so many Tiger Drivers….
