That Green Dude continues to grow
May was good yet weird month for me. It was good because my site did well. The stats for That Green Dude have increased once again and interaction with other bloggers and gamers online has also increased. I also got older in May as it was my birthday (pass me my zimmer frame) and it was a good day. I spent my birthday playing Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, watching Berserk and Digimon and then I rounded the night off by watching one of my favourite movies, Drunken Master.
What I wrote on my site in May 2018 –
- That Green Dude – April 2018 Overview
- 7 Games From The Seventh Generation Of Consoles You’ve Got To Try #1
- Ratchet and Clank (PS2) – Retro Review
- QOTM – I’ll Need A Gummi Ship
- Yakuza 6: The Song Of Life
- Games I Have Completed So Far In 2018
- 6 Characters I Want To See In Soul Calibur VI
- E3 2018 Bingo!
I was surprised and very happy to find out that I was the winner of the Question of the Month for May. In my response to the Question of the Month for May 2018 I wrote about a wonderful place called Twilight Town from Kingdom Hearts. I want to say thanks to Pix1001 for coming up with the awesome question and for selecting my response to be the winner.
Now, why was May weird? It was thanks to several things like helping to fit a sink and painting a gnome.
I want to say this now. To all of kitchen fitters and plumbers out there, you have my respect. It isn’t an easy job, it is hard bloody work. I didn’t fit the sink per se, my dad and uncle did that, I just did the heavy lifting.
I painted a gnome, weird I know. I needed to take myself away from social media and a screen for a while as I woke up one sunday and my brain was complete mush. My mom suggested that I should paint a gnome. It was a different way to spend a Sunday afternoon but it was very relaxing. Painting a gnome whilst birds were tweeting and that one annoying wasp that wouldn’t go away was one of the most calming and relaxing things I had done in a while. It helped to clear my mind and I would love to do it again.
I take it you want to see the gnome? I warn you, it will give you nightmares.
The paintbrush provided was crap but I did my best and well you can see the result. One funny thing about painting the gnome was that his left arse cheek wouldn’t paint properly. No matter how many coats of paint I applied, his left arse cheek said “no mate, you ain’t painting there”. It went wrong pretty much from the start but regardless, I had a lot of fun.
It was also in May where I hit the lowest weight I have been in over 10 years and I am very proud of myself. I am now even more motivated to lose weight than before. With me being at the lowest weight I have been in years I thought I would go back to an old friend of mine, my skateboard. For the first time in over four years, I stepped on my skateboard and rode away.
I missed it. I missed my skateboard. I nearly cried when I finished riding it. Riding my skateboard brought back so many memories of me skating away whilst listening to The Offspring and several other bands. I was happy and content. I’ve lost nearly all of the skill I once had but in time, I will learn it back.
If you are interested, I can go into why I stopped skateboarding in more detail in a future post.
Now on with what I have got planned for this month. Don’t worry, no impromptu sink fitting or failing to paint a gnome’s arse cheek will happen this month.
Here is what I have got planned this month
- E3 related lists
I will be making a few E3 2018 related lists in anticipation for the upcoming gaming event. I will be doing a list for what I would like to see at E3 2018, a wish list and a “Top 10 Games of E3 2018”. E3 2018 is shaping up to be very good however, with the amount of leaks that are happening there might not be any surprises left.
- Finally getting the Ratchet and Clank 2 &3 Retro Reviews done.
Unless Godzilla appears and destroys my house, I will get my retro review of Ratchet and Clank 2 out this month. For Ratchet and Clank 3, I will have to play it again (it has been many years since I last played it. I will strive to get both of them published in June but I promise that the Ratchet and Clank 2 Retro Review will happen; unless Godzilla destroys my house.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards showcase
I found a lot of my old Yu-Gi-Oh cards and man, did they bring back a lot of memories. I have quite a few Yu-Gi-Oh cards and I would like to show them off as they are games related. Plus now you know I am a Yu-Gi-Oh fan. I don’t collect the cards anymore because they are expensive but I still watch the anime.
That’s all I have planned for June so far. What have you got planned for June? Let me know in the comments below.
