It’s that time of the month again where I give my answer for the Question of the Month. This month’s question comes from The Gaming Diaries who is a brilliant blogger and is a delight to talk to. Please read and follow her blog.

The Question of the Month for July is a fun one, so let’s answer it.

The question –

It is coming into wedding season, if the shops and people I know are anything to go by. So in that spirit, you and a plus-one are attending the gaming wedding of the year. Which video game character do you take to the wedding and which character gives you advice on what to wear?

First of all which video game characters are getting married? There are so many video game characters that could get married. Mario and Princess Peach. Link and Zelda. Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong. Sonic and Amy (for the love of god don’t search this up without Google SafeSearch on, unless you want nightmares). However, I’ve decided to choose some different characters, some you probably wouldn’t expect.

Kazuma Kiryu and Yumi Sawamura

 

 

Why are these two characters getting married you ask? Well this can’t actually happen because of story reasons but for this question, I’m going to make it work.

For those that haven’t played the Yakuza games, Kazuma Kiryu doesn’t have the best of luck when it comes to his love life. After everything Kiryu has been through in the Yakuza games, I think he deserves a break. Now as I said before this relationship can’t actually happen in the Yakuza series because of story reasons (I’m not saying what happens as it is a big spoiler for anyone that hasn’t played the games) but because this piece is just a bit fun, it can be done.

Yumi Sawamura is Kiryu’s friend and childhood love. They grew up in the same orphanage together and know each other well. There is a strong bond between the two and Kiryu will go above and beyond to protect her.

 

I have been invited to the wedding, probably because I’m a huge fan of the Yakuza games. I don’t have to go on my own to this wedding, I can bring a plus one but who do I bring. There’s only one answer for me, Regina from Dino Crisis. Anyone that has read my Creative Christmas: A Christmas Kiss piece will know that I love Regina and have done since I first played the series when I was a kid. There are a few other video game characters I could pick to be my plus one but, I’m going with my heart.

Now, which video game character can give me fashion advice? I could go with Adam Jensen from Deus Ex, his black trench coat is awesome but aside from that he isn’t the best for fashion. I could ask Cole Phelps from LA Noire as he has a variety of suits that all look rather dapper. There is one person whose fashion sense is just as stylish as the action he performs. I am of course talking about, Dante from Devil May Cry.

Dante is one of the most stylish people in gaming, both in terms of gameplay and fashion. His iconic red leather trench coat is a thing of beauty. His red coat along with his white hair make him stand out amongst the crowd and that’s what I want to do. I want to stand out and make a statement and Dante does both of those things in more ways than one.
