What was shown?


  • Battlefield V

Electronic Arts kicked things off with the highly anticipated Battlefield V. They gave us some info on the game’s multiplayer and single player.

You will be able to dive and smash through windows to surprise your enemy. You can move defences around on the battlefield. Battlefield V will feature a more advanced destruction system. You will be able to customise your soldiers, vehicles and weapons.

Battlefield V’s War Stories will feature untold stories of World War II. Nordlys War Story gameplay to be shown at the Microsoft conference tomorrow.

EA reaffirmed that there would be no Loot Boxes and Premium Pass.

EA announced a “Battle Royale” mode  for Battlefield V. More details to come later in the year.

My opinion: I am quite interested in the “War Story” part of Battlefield V. I’ve never got around to playing a Battlefield game as other games come first but the single player portion of Battlefield V has me intrigued me. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Battlefield V at Microsoft’s conference.


  • FIFA 19

EA revealed the next entry in the FIFA series, FIFA 19. FIFA 19 will feature the UEFA Champions League

There will be a “Champions League Tournament mode”. You can chase the UEFA Champions League trophy in Career mode.The UEFA Champions League will also feature in the story mode of FIFA 19. There will also be UEFA Champions League content for FIFA Ultimate Team. More details on the UEFA Ultimate Team content will come later in the summer.

For a limited time, there is a free trial of FIFA 18 complete with the World Cup gameplay available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

FIFA 19 is scheduled to release on September 28, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

My opinion: I have never been one for the FIFA games but they have a huge fan base. I hope the game delivers on what the fans want.


  • EA Origin Access Premier

Origin Access Premier will bring all of EA’s new PC games starting with Madden NFL 19 then followed by FIFA 19, Battlefield V and Anthem. More titles to come to the service in the future.

Subscribers will get access to the EA Vault that has hundreds of games.

The service will launch this summer.


  • Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order

This is Respawn’s  (Titanfall developer) Star Wars game.

It takes place in between Episode 3 and 4. It will be set in a dark time where the Jedi are being hunted.

Releasing Holiday 2019.

More details to come in the future.

My opinion: I really enjoyed Titanfall 2 so I am already very interested in Respawn’s upcoming Star Wars game.


  • Star Wars: Battlefront 2

Later this summer EA are adding a “Squad” system. They are also adding a new Starfighter mode focused on dogfighting.

Later this year Battlefront 2 will get Clone Wars related content. New planets, heroes and villains will be part of this content.

General Grievous, Obi Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker are all coming to Battlefront 2 later this year.

  • Unravel Two

It’s made to be played with two characters. Can be played solo or co-op. It is not online co-op, couch co-op only.

When you play on your own, you can carry the other character on your back. When a puzzle requires two players, you can split apart and solve the puzzles.

Work together to play the game and solve puzzles.

The developers played a small demo on stage which highlighted the co-op features. They also released a trailer for the game.

Unravel 2 is available today.

My opinion: Unravel 2 looks as delightful as the first game, it is one I will definitely play. The game is also OUT NOW which is very surprising.


  • Sea of Solitude

EA talked about their indie game programme.

Revealing a new indie game from Berlin Studio Jo-Mei games, Sea of Solitude (SOS).

Sea of Solitude is a game about loneliness. This game will be an emotional game with powerful message.

In Sea of Solitude you play a young woman called Kay. Kay’s loneliness has turned her into a monster and your quest is to figure out why she became a monster and to find a way to turn Kay back into a human.

My opinion: Sea of Solitude looks fantastic. It has a great art style and touches upon a sensitive subject. I hope the game does well and I wish the best of luck to the developer.

Releasing Early 2019


  • NBA Live 2019

EA revealed NBA Live 2019. The upcoming basketball game will release on September 7 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

My opinion: Like FIFA 19, this is a game that I am not all that interested in but I know that it has a huge fan base.


  • Madden NFL 19

EA revealed Madden NFL 19 which will release on August 10 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. If you pre-order the Hall of Fame edition, you will get the game three days early.

My opinion: Just like all of the other sports games, I’m not that interested in Madden NFL 19. I hope the game delivers on what the fans want.


  • Command and Conquer: Rivals

Command and Conquer: Rivals – Official Reveal Trailer

Command and Conquer: Rivals is a mobile game. Sorry C&C fans, I know you’ve been asking for a new Command and Conquer game on PC.

EA showed off the game on-stage with two teams and the commentators. (As soon as they started this segment, you could feel the joy being sapped out of the room and the chat).

It’s a fast-paced competitive multiplayer match title which is a big change from the usual C&C games.

Command and Conquer: Rivals will be available on iOS and Android. Android Players can pre-register now. No release date given.

My opinion: I have a feeling that this mobile Command and Conquer game will annoy longtime fans of the series that want another entry on PC.


  • Anthem

New trailer for Anthem was released.


There was a “deep dive” of Anthem where some of the developers came out on stage and talked about the upcoming game. The developers that came on stage to talk about the game are Casey Hudson (General Manager), Mark Darrah (Executive Producer) and Cathleen Rootsaert (Lead Writer).

Below is a video of the deep dive of Anthem.

Bioware showed off 4 minutes of gameplay of Anthem.

My opinion: Anthem looks really good. I was sceptical at first but this gameplay has got me more interested. It is possible we could see more at Microsoft’s conference tomorrow and/ or throughout E3.

  1. I’m still not feeling the hype for Anthem, but that might be because I’m being cautious due to Ea’s history with multiplayer games. Still, I love the look of Unravel 2 and Sea of Solitude looks intriguing.
