An Open Beta for Resistance to come a week later
Capcom has announced that the upcoming Resident Evil 3 will have a demo releasing this Thursday, March 19th on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The demo titled “Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo” will put players in the boots of long time Resident Evil protagonist and former S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine. The demo will see Jill trying to escape the apocalyptic Raccoon City and the nightmarish bioweapon Nemesis. Once players have completed the demo, they will be rewarded with a brand new cinematic trailer.
The demo also has a scavenger hunt, challenging players to find twenty Mr Charlie statues. Finding all twenty of the statues won’t be easy especially with Nemesis stalking you throughout Raccoon City. One good thing to note is that the demo won’t have a time limit. The demo for Resident Evil 2 Remake had a time limit which was a weird thing to feature.
The demo isn’t the only thing Capcom has announced, the 4 vs 1 asymmetrical multiplayer experience, Resident Evil Resistance will be getting an open beta. The open beta will start a week after the demo releases on March 27. Players will be able to play as Daniel Fabron one of the game’s four Masterminds unleashing bioweapons and setting traps for the escaping survivors. In turn, players can team up as a group of survivors. 4 of the 6 survivors will be available during the beta. Each survivor possesses a unique ability to help the team escape before time runs out.
To go with the announcement of the demo and open beta, Capcom has released a trailer showcasing both of them.
I am hyped for the demo as Resident Evil 3 is one of my most anticipated games of 2020. I will be playing this demo on Thursday and I will be sharing my thoughts about it as well, so look forward to that.
Resident Evil 3 will be releasing on April 3 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Resident Evil Resistance is included with Resident Evil 3 and will be releasing on the same day and platforms.
