What I have been doing and the future!

Hello everyone. It’s been a while since I posted my last piece on my site, which was the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy review. So I thought I’d update you all on what I’ve been doing since my last post and what I am going to do going forward.

First of all I want to say thanks to everyone that read my thoughts piece and review of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. It was the first game that I got a review code for, so I could review it on my site. I’ve had review codes before but that was when I did my placement at Gamereactor. I hope to get more review codes in the future so I can produce more reviews for my site. Again, thank you to everyone that read my Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy pieces.

During my time away from here I was gearing up for one of the most important days of my life, my graduation. I have now officially graduated from university with a BA (Hons) in Games Journalism and PR. My graduation was one of the best days of my life and was the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one. My graduation gave me that final kick up the arse to decide on doing something that I have been meaning to do for some time, which is making videos.

So what am I going to do going forward?

I’m still going to be writing here on my site but I will also be making videos for YouTube and Vidme. Video making is something I have been wanting to do for some time but never had the confidence and motivation to go ahead and do it. As said before, my graduation was the kick up the arse that I needed, the fuel for the fire. I will also be writing pieces for known websites because you know, a guy has gotta earn money so he can eat and stay alive.

Now I want to go into detail about the kind of videos I will be making. On my YouTube and Vidme channels, I will be making videos about video games and Asian Cinema and Martial Arts movies.

On the video game side of things I want to talk about games that I like; about the news of games that are coming out that I like the look of and eventually let’s plays however they won’t be a common thing. I also want to do unboxing and show off the gaming merch that I have. I have quite a few PS1 demo discs so I want to make videos on them too. The main thing I want to do about video games are videos that I’m going to call retrospectives. In these videos I will be talking about my favourite and not-so favourite parts of a chosen video game, the story, gameplay and the chances of the game getting a sequel/ reboot (Obviously this last point will only be doable in certain videos).

These are the games so far that I have chosen that I want to do retrospectives on:

  • Sleeping Dogs
  • Kingdom Hearts 1
  • Kingdom Hearts 2
  • Dark Cloud
  • Dark Chronicle
  • Ape Escape 2
  • Gears of War 1
  • Assassin’s Creed Unity
  • Bully (Aka; Canis Canem Edit)
  • Valkyria Chronicles
  • Viva Pinata
  • Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise

I want to also do PS1 and PS2 games (yes I know there are PS2 games in the list but they’re also available on PS4. I need a capture card that can record PS1 and PS2 games but that’s for further in the future.

Then there’s the movie side of things. I enjoy Martial Arts movies and Asian Cinema and there are some films that many people don’t know about. Martial Arts movies are my favourite film genre. I want to talk about upcoming movies in the genres mentioned above and reviews. However there is one thing that I need your help with, a ratings system. There are multiple ratings/ scoring systems and I want to know what you peeps think is the best one. It’s between a ‘Star’ rating or a ‘out of ten’ scoring system. Let me know what you think in the comments section or by telling me on Twitter @ThatGreenDude95

So that’s what I’ve been doing during my hiatus and what I’m going to do going forward.

What do you think about my future plans? let me know in the comments or hit me up on Twitter @ThatGreenDude95 where you see my ramblings and my continued descent into insanity.
