That Green Dude’s 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2020

2019 was filled with awesome games and it looks like 2020 is going be the same. There are so many cool games I am looking forward to next year, that it was hard to break it down to 10.

There is one game I won’t mention on this list that would have been here and that is The Yakuza Remastered Collection. The reason why that is omitted, is because of both Yakuza 3 and 4 of the collection released last year and Yakuza 5 releases in February. I’m looking forward to playing all three once again when I get my physical version on February 22nd.

Enough of me blabbering on, here are my 10 most anticipated games of 2020.

10 – Zombie Army 4: Dead War

zombie army 4

I love Sniper Elite so developer Rebellion decided to turn the Nazis into Zombie Nazis and hey presto you have yet another fun as hell game.

I have a soft spot for Rebellion, the Sniper Elite games are a guilty pleasure and whenever they announce something, they have my attention.

I loved Zombie Army Trilogy so I think it is safe to say that I will love Zombie Army 4 as well.

9 – Digimon Survive

We still don’t know much about Digimon Survive but it’s Digimon and it’s a Digimon game, therefore it had to be on this list.

Bandai Namco has said we will see more of this game in 2020 and hopefully it will release in 2020 as well. I hope it does because what we have seen has been incredible.

8 – Guilty Gear Strive

Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator is one of the best fighting games of this gen so I, like many others have been eagerly awaiting the next instalment.

Now we know what this game is called, Guilty Gear Strive. Developer Arc System Works is making some changes and somehow they have made the already gorgeous visuals even better.

Guilty Gear Strive is going to be good but just how good will it be? Will it be better than Revelator? We’ll find out later this year.

7 – Watch Dogs: Legion

I like the Watch Dogs series, I love how it incorporates hacking into its gameplay, world and story. I enjoyed both the first and second game but I am very much looking forward to the third game, Watch Dogs: Legion.

Legion is set in the UK, London to be exact. More Watch Dogs makes me happy but the fact that the game is set in the UK makes very happy.

I’m also looking forward to the very ambitious system of being able to play as “anyone”. Anyone you see in the street walking around is a possible playable character. It sounds insane but goddamn do I admire the ambitiousness of it.

Watch Dogs: Legion is expected to release at some point in 2020.

6 – Yakuza 7: Like A Dragon

It’s Yakuza so this was going to be on this list, it was just a matter of where.

Yakuza 7 is changing things up quite by changing the combat system from a beat em up brawler style, to some something more in tune with JRPGs.

Whilst I was apprehensive at first about the new combat system, after playing the demo (my thoughts on the demo), my fears have been quelled. I love the new system, it feels good and street fights don’t drag on (which was a fear of mine).

The story looks to be very interesting which is to be expected but this is also the first game with the new protagonist, Kasuga Ichiban. First impressions are positive however, it will take a lot and I mean a lot, to even be on the same level as Kazuma Kiryu.

Japan gets Yakuza 7 om January 16th which is quite soon. Everyone else has to wait until sometime in 2020. I am very looking forward to Ichiban’s first outing.

5 – Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is CD Projekt Red’s next big game and it looks incredible. Everything they have shown off so far has been jaw-dropping. The graphics, style, scope of the city and the immense RPG elements are just a few of things that Cyberpunk is flaunting and flaunting well may I add.

This game looks massive and because it is developed by CD Projekt Red, I have no worries about this game. I know CDPR will deliver a brilliant video game and a fantastic experience. April can’t come quick enough.

4 – Ghosts of Tsushima

I have been gripped by Ghosts of Tsushima since it was announced. An action-adventure game set in 13th century Japan. The setting alone got my attention but everything else they have shown has been icing on the cake.

I have to say Ghosts of Tsushima is quite possibly one of the most visually striking games on PS4. The graphics look downright insane, near uncanny valley levels of realistic.

I’m looking forward to this and I think this could end up being one hell of a swansong for PS4 exclusives.

3 – DOOM Eternal

DOOM ETERNAL IS MORE DOOM AND MORE DOOM IS GOOD. DOOM ETERNAL LOOKS FAST AND BRUTAL WITH MORE WAYS TO KILL DEMONS. SPEAKING OF DEMONS THERE ARE MORE DEMONS TO KILL THIS TIME AROUND, THIS MAKES THIS WANNABE DOOMGUY A VERY HAPPY DEMON KILLER.

DOOM ETERNAL RELEASES ON MARCH 20, 2020. DOOM!!!

2 – Final Fantasy VII Remake

Final Fantasy VII Remake looks phenomenal. Everything and I mean everything that they have shown off, has been brilliant. All of the characters look fantastic, Midgar looks incredible and the combat looks insanely cool.

The music, goddamn is the music good. FF7 Remake much like 2019’s Resident Evil 2 remake looks to be an example on how to do a remake of an old and beloved game and do it well.

We haven’t got long to wait for this game as it arrives on March 3rd.

1 – Resident Evil 3 Remake

RE3 REMAKE SCREEN 1

Resident Evil 3 was my favourite Resident Evil game until the remake of Resident Evil 2 released last year. Since the moment I completed it, I was wondering when Capcom would remake Resident Evil 3. It turns out I didn’t have to wait very long.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is happening and holy goddamn Nemesis at a tea party am I excited. Resident Evil 3 was my first Resident Evil, it was the game that got me into the series and it made think that zombies were really cool (and they still are).

I finally get see RE3 with a new coat of paint and a new and more horrifying Nemesis. RE3 Remake releases in April however I don’t think I can’t wait that long. I can’t wait to return to the nightmare that is Raccoon City.

There you have it folks, those are my 10 most anticipated games of 2020. What games are you looking forward to this year? Let me know in the comments below or you can tell me on Twitter – @ThatGreenDude95
